This customer is an interior designer and wanted to make a traditional gas fireplace inset into the focal point of her living room. She contacted us for a reasonable solution to make this transform without adding too much weight to her wall and having to tear down her drywall to hang stone. We were able to hang spyder lath and apply a mortar scratch coat to act as a hanger. After the overnight cure, we applied the specialty vertical cement. Unlike our usual stone patterns, she wanted to incorporate a tile look over the inset. This is also carved by our artist and stained a different color. The texture was smooth unlike the dimensional random stone. This was a two day application that will last for years.
