Project Description

This particular customer approached our artists with a large task. Mrs. wanted a series of shelves built into the wall before we used our adhesive vertical cement to carve a custom stone pattern. The wall was created with regular plywood to create the structure. Our second step when applying directly over drywall is to hang spyder lath and then apply a regular mortar scratch coat by "combing" it across. This dries overnight and then a second application of specialty vertical cement is used to create a carvable coat. Once set up, our artist etched out a custom pattern and once approved, carved and stained the wall and fireplace. This has an 8 hour set up and then it is dried and hard. It is a beautiful upgrade to tired fireplaces.
